5 Remarkable Ceramic Keepsakes for Ashes

Keepsake urns are designed to hold a small amount of your loved one's ashes. They enable families to separate their loved one's ashes to be shared amongst the family members. Alternatively, you may wish to have multiple keepsake urns dotted around your home in multiple spots. Furthermore, their ashes may have been scattered but you wanted to keep a little piece of them with you which keepsake urns allow you to do.

In this article we are showing some of our new ceramic keepsake urns for ashes we have available here at Urns For Angels. They have all been designed and made by extremely talented artisans in Belgium.

1. Bridge Ashes Keepsake Urn

Our Bridge Ashes Keepsake has a solid cube structure, representing the stability and strength of the piece. The black cube is layered with a contrasting cream structure across the face, causing an eye-catching disparity. The strip that wraps around the cube resembles the formation of a wooden bridge and the planks strung together.

This bridge is symbolic of the connection between you and your angel based upon its dynamic structure designed to test the balance and demand of concentration.bridges keepsake ashes

2. Hemisphere Ashes Keepsake

Our Hemisphere Ashes Keepsake has a bowl-shaped structure placed upon a small circular platform. Upon the top of this mini urn lies 3 disc shapes, varying in size, which are irregularly stacked upon one another.

This keepsake urn is painted with the same cream and black contrasting elements which makes this piece pop, attracting any onlooker's eye.

3. Teardrop Candle Ashes Keepsake

Our Teardrop Candle Ashes Keepsake has a perfect spherical structure, like an orb. The two hemispheres are contrasting colours, each at the opposite ends of the spectrum, cream and black.  This clash of colours makes this a stand out keepsake urn and a staple piece to add to your home décor.

On removal of the top hemisphere, a space for a tealight candle is uncovered. This is designed to be lit in times of remembrance, with the dancing flame representing the light that your loved one brought to the world.

By placing the top half of the sphere back onto the flame, the teardrop shaped cut outs allow the light to shine through, producing beautiful patterns amongst the interior of your home.

4. Teardrop Sphere Ashes Keepsake Urn

Our Teardrop Sphere Ashes Keepsake urn represents a whole and complete unit, often symbolising karma and cyclic energies. This is the perfect keepsake to reflect the glorious life your loved one lived and how they have completed their journey.

Each half of the sphere are contrasting colours, black and cream. Accents are detailed across the surface of the urn which form teardrop-like shapes. These formations are often found throughout nature and commonly being seen as a symbol of creativity, emotion, and fertility.

Teardrops are found throughout all cultures and used for all sorts of decorative patterns. Notably, the teardrop shape inspired the famous paisley pattern, also known as boteh jegheh in Persian. This ornamental design dates back to the 800’s and is believed to originate as a Zoroastrianism symbol, the world’s first monotheistic religion which holds a special place among the religions in the world.

The paisley pattern is often associated with the Cypress Tree, symbolising long life and eternity with its evergreen properties. It can also be seen as a symbol of strength, fertility, the sun, the phoenix, and the eagle.

5. Teardrop Cube Ashes Keepsake Urn

This ceramic keepsake urn is mainly a natural cream colour, which is usually associated with a calming mood, reverence, and warmth. Cream has a modern feel to it, making this a suitable ashes keepsake for a contemporary home. The base of the keepsake is black, acting as a stage to display your loved one's memory.

Teardrop shapes are embossed upon the faces of this keepsake cube, making their way to tear dropped shaped discs that are stacked upon the top. Like the Teardrop Sphere Ashes Keepsake Urn, this pattern gives homage to the paisley pattern and you can interpret its symbolism in any of the ways you feel most reflects who your loved one was.
