6 Artistic Ceramic Urns

Cremation urns come in all shapes, designs, sizes and colours, at Urns for Angels we have created a diverse collection of urns for ashes, all varying in different materials which are produced using numerous techniques resulting in a selection which can cater to all and fulfil the wishes of everyone.

In this article we will be focusing on our unique art urns that have been manufactured using the saggar firing technique.

1) Frost Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Frost Cremation Urn for Ashes has been made out of ceramic material and has been sculpted into a long, rounded shape. The urn is then wrapped in raw materials such as copper and covered in foil before being fired in temperatures of up to 1100°C.

The foil traps the fumes as the materials used imprint themselves onto the surface of the urn, this technique is known as the saggar firing technique. Because of this, each urn is one of a kind and cannot be replicated.

The urn has been named ‘frost’ due to its icicle-like patterns which have been formed on the urn, gradually spreading from the bottom to the top. The soft colours of light blue and white represent a winter inspired theme that is gently freezing over the urn.

2) Summer Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Summer Cremation Urn for Ashes has been handcrafted into a rounded vase-like shape with a wide top which is securely covered by its lid.

Made out of ceramic material and created using the saggar firing technique, this urn for ashes consists of floral patterns and earthy colours such as, brown and beige as well as a navy blue.

This establishes a summer theme due to the affectionate flowers featured on the surface of the urn. Flowers are a universal symbol for love, beauty and affection making this urn ideal for your special loved one. You can present this urn in any way you please as the colours are soft enough to fit into any home décor.

3) Phanes Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Phanes Cremation Urn for Ashes has been inspired by ancient Greek design, due to this reason it has been named after the deity of light and goodness ‘Phanes’.

Made out of ceramic material it has been sculpted into an elevated rounded shape with a flat top. This urn for ashes was then put through the saggar firing technique, creating an array of smoky blacks, greys, and oranges.

The lid of the urn features intricate carvings on top which are enhanced by the hue of the dark coloured background. This urn would fit in with modern home décor and would stand out against classic soft colours such as a light cream.

4) Tusk Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Tusk Cremation Urn for Ashes features a narrow base and widens as we move up the body with a broad opening that is covered by a disc-shaped lid.
The main colour of this urn is an ivory white which represents purity and cleanliness, alongside this there a light brown crackles to create an ancient antique look.
Upon the lid and the urn are red floral prints to emphasise love and beauty, attributes which can be applied to your loved one held inside. These patterns have been imprinted using the saggar firing technique.
Due to its design and colour combination this urn will be sure to stand out against home décor, creating a loving daily reminder of your dearly departed.

5) Jupiter Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Jupiter Cremation Urn for Ashes is made out of ceramic material and has been modelled into a rounded shape at its base, but stretches into a cylinder from the middle all the way towards the top of the urn, this is then topped off with a pointed lid.

The elaborate shape makes this urn for ashes a one of a kind, an eye-catching piece which will be a staple product of whichever room it sits in.

The terracotta colour has been horizontally imprinted in a mix of thick and thin lines around the circumference of the urn, reminding you of the planet Jupitar - due to its similarities in the orange patterns. This is a beautiful and worthy vessel for your loved one, who will elegantly rest in peace within.

7) Lagoon Cremation Urn for Ashes

The Lagoon Cremation Urn for Ashes is a spherical shaped urn which features soft, pasty pastel colours such as, light pinks, baby blues and smoky greys. The combination of these shades has inspired the name ‘Lagoon’ due to the rainbow mix of colours, which resemble tropical beaches and wildlife.

The lid features a driftwood which has been selected due to the its naturistic association. Made out of ceramic material, this urn has been created using the saggar firing technique which intensely imprints colour onto the surface of the urn.

This colourful urn will be an eye-catching staple piece within any home and will blend well with colours such as, whites, pinks, blues, yellows and greys.
