Molten Cremation Urn for Ashes

This unique display of colours has been created using the saggar firing technique. The exciting saggar firing technique is a production of natural reactions which create unique patterns which can never truly be replicated. Every piece is completely individual, making this the perfect cremation urn for your one-of-a-kind loved one. 

The Saggar firing technique makes use of Iron(III), otherwise known as Ferric Chloride, a compound commonly used in etching copper circuit boards and water treatment. Each clay urn is coated and wrapped in raw materials such as copper wire, steel wool, ferns, sugar, salt, and aluminium foil before firing to 1100°C.

The foil then traps the fumes created as the materials burn away, which imprint themselves into the surface of the clay. Because of this, each piece is completely one of a kind, never to be reproduced. This is, of course, a feature and one of the many beautiful aspects making this Saggar cremation urn a beautiful piece of décor.
