About This Urn
The Oceane Sand Biodegradable Water Urn for Ashes – Adult is a thoughtfully handcrafted urn created for families choosing a dignified and environmentally respectful water burial. Its rounded form and natural sand finish offer a calm, coastal presence, making it well suited for a meaningful water ceremony.
Although this is a biodegradable urn, it is perfectly suitable for dignified display in the home; the biodegradable materials are designed to break down only when placed in land burial or water burial conditions.
This urn is supported by an official Certificate of Biodegradability, providing reassurance that the materials are designed to naturally return to the earth over time.
Materials & Finish
Handcrafted using a natural clay-like substance and coated with real sand, this urn is made entirely from natural materials. The exterior has a beach-textured finish that reflects its purpose as a biodegradable water urn.
Decorative detailing around the centre of the urn adds subtle character, while the light sandy colour makes the urn easy to see during a water ceremony, even with multiple attendees present.

How to Fill & Seal
The urn features a lid at the top and is supplied with a water soluble inner bag to hold the ashes securely. Once the ashes are placed inside the bag and positioned within the urn, the lid is fitted in place, ready for water burial.
When placed on the water, the urn will float briefly before water enters through small openings in the base, allowing it to sink naturally and biodegrade over approximately 4–5 hours.
