5 Unique Green Cremation Urns
In this blog post we will be discussing and exploring the variations of green urns for ashes that we have available from our different material collections. These materials include biodegradable, ceramic and metal cremation urns. Take a look below to find out more.
Journey Biodegradable Water Urn for Ashes
This cremation urn for ashes has been crafted from water soluble materials, making it an eco-friendly alternative when it comes to cremation urns. The components used to create this are obtained from a Mulberry Tree. The Mulberry Tree is used to gather materials using an ancient harvesting method, which leaves the tree to continue growing unharmed after the needed components are collected. This makes the cremation urn for ashes completely biodegradable.
This urn is soft to the touch, your fingers can slide smoothly over the four corners of the urn without any trouble. The shape of this cremation urn is similar to a pillow or envelope shape. It is quite flat, making it an easy urn to carry around to your chosen destination of water burial. Due to it being pretty flat in shape, it makes it easy to take on most commercial airlines as hand luggage, meaning that you can take your loved ones ashes possibly to their favourite location abroad.
With this biodegradable urn comes a water soluble bag for you to place your loved ones ashes into safely before transferring them into the cremation urn for ashes. After you have placed your loved ones ashes into the body of water of your choice, within a short period of time, the cremation urn will be fully submerged in the water. Following this, over time your loved ones ashes and the urn will begin to dissipate within the water until there is no longer nothing left.
Eden Biodegradable Urn for Ashes
This earthy and naturalistic cremation urn has been created using olive stones and bound together by plant extracts. This biodegradable urn is suitable for land burial or water burials, making a good choice of urn if you aren't sure which environmentally friendly method to go with when it comes to your loved ones final resting place. The extracts contain phosphorus, nitrogen and other nutrients necessary to the development of plants.
The outer lining of the cremation urn is a bright olive green colour that is smooth to the touch, with a durable exterior. The aura and aesthetic of the biodegradable urn fits perfectly into a naturistic atmosphere, the colours complement this with the vibrant greens and muted plant extracts, blending in with nature. When buried into soil, the biodegradable urn will start to merge and cohere with its natural surroundings. The nutrients obtained from the plant extracts stimulate the growth of the plants and nourish the soil around it.
With this, an extra benefit that some other families do, is planting a tree above where the urn has been buried. The minerals from the plant extracts will help with the growth of the tree, allowing it to be a landmark to return to in times of remembrance and an eternal everlasting symbol of your loved one. When the biodegradable urn is placed into a body of water, the urn will slowly dissipate and the nutrients from the plant extracts will nourish and enrich the sea life environment, allowing the environment to continue growing healthily.
Jadeite Cremation Urn for Ashes
This bedazzling cremation urn is from our new crystalline collection. Our crystalline collection consists of urns being handcrafted with crystal formations, giving the cremation urn a beautiful design. The base and body of the urn appears as visual crystal formations that give the urn a stunning bubbly effect on the surface, giving it a textured design.
The Jadeite cremation urn has the colour of lively and blooming plants that you would see in nature. The rounded larger bubbled patterns resemble Nymphaea water lily-like structures which symbolise feelings of wellness & hope. This unique and earthly inspired urn for ashes is a piece that could beautifully compliment any type of household décor, from modern to a more classic design, catching everyone’s attention as they gaze upon the unique patterns on the urn.
These crystalline glaze urns for ashes have been formed on a potter’s wheel and fired in an electric kiln at daringly high temperatures of around 1280°C for multiple hours. Once a liquid matrix is formed from the molten glaze, the kiln is then cooled to the temperature at which the crystals will grow, which is usually around 1050 - 1150°C. The crystals take around 3-5 hours to grow.
When the crystals have cooled down, they obtain their final stunning appearance and will not change. The modifications of the appearance of the crystals are a result of the specific chemical compositions of the glaze. The crystal formers are Zinc Oxide and Silica which combine to create Zinc Silicate. The shape of the crystals formed on the cremation urn also vary depending on the different temperatures.
A special ring must be made for each urn for ashes as well as a plate to catch the glaze that runs off the urn, in order to protect the shelves of the kiln. This must then be removed and the bottom is grinded to make it smooth to the touch. Ultimately, each crystalline piece is delicately handcrafted, creating unique and original designs which are one of a kind and impossible to replicate. As the pieces are created on a pottery wheel, the size and measurements won’t be exact.
