Choosing ashes jewellery

What is self-fill ashes jewellery? Each piece has a small, discreet chamber that you fill yourself at home with a symbolic amount of ashes. Our guide to how self-fill ashes jewellery works takes you through filling it, step by step.

What can I choose from? Our ashes necklaces and pendants are the largest group, in shapes such as hearts, stars, crosses and bars. Our ashes bracelets include braided leather bracelets with the ashes chamber hidden in a stainless steel clasp, and sterling silver snake chain bracelets for charm beads. The ashes charm beads have a 4 mm opening to fit a charm bracelet, and our ashes lockets have space for a small photo as well as the ashes. You can also browse men's ashes jewellery and pet ashes jewellery.

How much ash does a piece hold? A symbolic amount: a small portion, not all of the ashes. The rest can be kept in an urn; our small urns hold a larger share.

What is it made of? The pendants, lockets and charm beads are 925 sterling silver, which contains at least 92.5% silver. The chains are rhodium-plated.

Is a chain included? Almost every pendant comes with a 46 cm (18 inch) rhodium-plated chain, so it is ready to wear. Each product page says what is included.

How is the chamber closed? Depending on the piece, the chamber closes with a screw or with a push pin and a rubber seal. Many product pages also suggest a drop of adhesive on the screw thread if you want to seal the chamber permanently; each page explains how to fill and seal that piece.
