Who we are
Urns For Angels was founded by Paul Levy. After the death of his grandfather he found that the memorials on offer felt impersonal, and he set out to give families something better. You can read the full account on Our Story.
We are a small team. When you phone, email or use the live chat, a person answers, and most of our conversations are with people who have never had to choose an urn before.
What we sell
- Adult urns for ashes: full-size urns, typically 3.0 to 4.0 litres, made to hold all of the ashes of an adult.
- Keepsake and small urns: small urns that hold a portion of the ashes, so that several family members can each keep some. Keepsakes typically hold 0.05 to 0.3 litres.
- Pet urns: urns for dogs, cats and other pets, in sizes matched to the weight of the pet.
- Biodegradable urns: urns made for burial in the earth or for a water burial.
- Ashes jewellery (jewelry): necklaces, rings, bracelets and charms that hold a small amount of ashes, either filled at home or with the ashes set into the piece.
Our urns are made from ceramic, porcelain, wood, metal and biodegradable materials. Every product page states the capacity of the urn in litres. Some pieces are handmade to order.
Some of our ceramic urns have INNER COATING®, a thin rubber-like layer on the inside of the urn that is designed to hold the ashes in one place if the urn is ever broken. Read about INNER COATING®.
Choosing the right size
A full-size adult urn typically holds 3.0 to 4.0 litres. Medium and small adult urns typically hold 1.5 to 2.5 litres and are used for sharing ashes or for a partial scattering. Keepsake urns typically hold 0.05 to 0.3 litres. A common rule of thumb is one cubic inch of capacity for each pound of body weight. Our size guide includes a calculator.

Returns
An item that has not been personalised can be returned for a refund or an exchange within 14 days, as long as it is unused and in its original packaging. Personalised items are made for one family and cannot be returned, unless they arrive faulty, in which case we put it right. Trade accounts
Funeral directors, pet crematoriums and memorial specialists can apply for a trade account. Approved trade customers sign in with their email address to see trade prices and order online.
